Charlie Clinton Coatney, Sr. was born in Sedan, Kansas on September 17, 1934 to George Coatney and Iva (Pollard). He went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2016 at the age of 82. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Louise Coatney; his parents George Coatney and Iva Jackson; daughter Kathy Louise; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by sons Ricky Lynn Coatney; Charlie Clinton Coatney, Jr. and wife Linda; Terry Lee Coatney and wife Kim; Gary Dean Coatney and wife Sandra; brothers Clarence Coatney; Eugene McLaughlin; Andrew Jackson; sister Wilma Dean Flowers; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Charlie grew up in Elgin, KS and he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Louise Petitt and together they raised 5 children in the Sapulpa area. He was a longtime member of the Blue Bell Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid CB radio enthusiast, enjoyed hunting & fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Charlie was “goosey” if you poked him. Charlie was well loved by his family and will be deeply missed. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is scheduled on Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Green Hill Funeral Home.
