Obituary of Leila Jane Seaba

Leila “Jane” Seaba passed from this life on February 18, 2017.  She was born December 15, 1942 in Drumright, Oklahoma to parents Robert Lee Turnbow and Leila Irene Morton Turnbow.

Jane grew up in Oilton, Oklahoma.  She was known around town for her ornery antics and mischief.  During her teenage years, Jane moved to Tulsa, OK.  She graduated from Tulsa Central High School 1960.  Jane met the love of her life, Dale Seaba and married May 26, 1961.  Jane and Dale moved their family to Sapulpa in 1972.  Jane had a true passion for life.  Her love of music, time with friends and family leave a lasting legacy for all that knew her. Jane was proud to serve her community in many different ways.  She was very active in building the Sapulpa Girls Softball Association where she held many different titles.  Jane volunteered countless hours to coaching and mentoring young girls not only on the softball field but in life as well.  Several former players have commented that Ms. Jane was a friend, coach, and a 2nd mom all rolled into 1; she helped guide them into the women they are today.

Jane was very instrumental in creating the Sapulpa Parks & Recreation Board.  She was a board member from 1982-1995, Secretary from 1982-1984.  She also served as Chairwomen from 1984-1995. Also during this time, Jane was an active Ambassador of the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce.

Even though she experienced a life changing health issue 20 years ago, Jane never complained.  She was always happy to spend time with friends, and especially her family.  She was devoted to her husband Dale of 55 years and her 3 daughters. Jane’s passion for her daughters extended to her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.  Along with her endless love and support- Jane’s sense of humor, countless jokes and funny pranks will be greatly missed.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leila Turnbow; and brother Robert Ray Turnbow.  She is survived by her husband Dale Harmon Seaba; daughter Dell Janene Seaba Haught of Sapulpa, former son-in-law Dave Haught of Sapulpa, grandson Christopher Haught and wife Amanda, great-granddaughter Rylee Lynn Haught of Kellyville; grandson-Jordan Haught/wife Meagan, great granddaughter Addison Shae and great grandson, Knox of Sapulpa, daughter Denise LeAnne Seaba Etchison and husband Jimmy of Muskogee, daughter Denise LeAnne Seaba Etchison and husband Jimmy of Muskogee, her only granddaughter Chelsey Etchison, grandson Lukas Etchison of Muskogee; daughter Deana Rae Seaba Quimby and husband Gannon of Mannford, grandson Adam Quimby of Paradise, TX, Grandson Gannon “Bret” Quimby of Mannford and Grandson Chase Quimby; as well as by Jane’s very dear friend - Gale Eschler.  Ms. Gale was a faithful friend who spent many hours visiting and talking with Jane over the years.  Your love and friendship will never be forgotten.
