Obituary of Virgil Harry

Virgil was born March 31, 1936 to Roy and Ada (Fox) Harry in Claremore, Oklahoma. Virgil is one of five siblings. Virgil worked for Southern Hills Country Club for many years. He retired in 1999 after a career as a golf course maintenance worker. Virgil was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He lived a full life of enjoyment that consisted of coaching softball, participating in stomp dances, fixing things around the house or on automobiles (mechanically inclined), hunting/skinning squirrels, watching all things baseball/softball but Chicago Cubs was his favorite and spending time with his family. Virgil Harry, a lifelong resident of Hectorville, Oklahoma transitioned to his heavenly home on April 18, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Virgil is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan Harry; Son, Brian Harry; brother, Marchie Harry; sister, Audrey Rabbit; grandson, Taylor Monday; & granddaughter, Tyleigh Harry. Those left to cherish his memories are his children: Virgil Wayne of Hectorville, Kimberly Harry of Tulsa, and Stephanie Ellis & husband Donald of Broken Arrow; brother, Simon Harry of Hectorville, and a sister, Etheleen Harry of Hectorville; grandchildren Aaron Gambler of Tulsa, Christina Brown of Morris, Trenton Harry of Ada, Kyle Harry of Hectorville, Anthony & Tristan Tritt of Bixby, Adrienne Phillips of Tulsa, Jaidyn, Teiganne & Journey Ellis of Broken Arrow; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
