Raymond P. Vaughn, age 77, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in Neodesha, Kansas on July 14, 1940 to Leonard and Alta Vaughn. He went to school at Tuskegee, Pharoah and Pinterest. On October 8, 1957, he married Darlene Wallace and they were blessed with almost 60 years of marriage. Raymond was employed by C&C construction where he was an equipment operator and truck driver.
Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Jerald Wayne Vaughn; and a daughter Regina Mae (Vaughn) Fullbright; sisters, Martha, Ida Mae, Lou, Opal, and Gertrude; Brothers, Lee Roy, Charlie, Huey, Jim, Don and R.V. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Vaughn; a son, Harold Vaughn and his wife, Tisha; 5 grandchildren, Sheila Barnes and her husband Clifford, Richard Fullbright, Ricky Fullbright, Daniel Chavera, Linda Chavera, Dylan Davis, and Dakota Davis; 10 great grandchildren, Calvin Casteel, Chase Casteel, Cody Barnes, Launi Barnes, Claudia Barnes, Ashlyn Lynn (Fullbright) Walker, Eleanor “Ella” Ripper, Zaiden Ripper, Emersyn “Emmy” Ripper, Cashton (Sinor) (Toni) Wells; a sister, Ann (Vaughn) Churchill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews and his longtime friend, Harry Lovell.
Raymond was a resident of Sapulpa for most of his life and was forced into retirement from C&C Construction due to his illness. He enjoyed cooking and having cookouts with his family and helping in any way he could. He liked camping, fishing and watching football. His favorite professional team was the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite college team was the Oklahoma Sooners.
Services for Raymond Vaughn will be 2:00 PM, Monday, August 7, 2017 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation for Mr. Vaughn will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00PM to 8:00 PM.
