Obituary of Freddie Leroy Lear

Freddie Leroy Lear went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2018 at the age of 92. He was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on October 14, 1925 to parents John and Mabel Lear.

 

Freddie was a 1943 graduate of Sapulpa High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served aboard the U.S.S. Lexington during World War II where he earned a Purple Heart. Freddie was very proud of his military service. He worked for the railroad and later worked for Wickhams Packing Company, where he earned the nickname “Weenie Man.”

 

Freddie enjoyed helping others, and always loved taking care of children. He loved all the old westerns and listening to country music. He always had a sweet tooth with pie and ice cream being his favorite.

 

Freddie was proceeded in death by parents John and Mabel (Porter) Lear, sister Myrtle Mae Gubas, brother Leonard Lear, grand-daughter Laticia Rame. He is survived by sister Deloris Keegan of South Carolina, daughter Vicky Foster and husband Wayne. Grandchildren Noah Foster, Sara Smiles and Randy Renfrow. Great grandchildren Kalyn Lay, Logan Smiles and Isaiah Renfrow.

 

Funeral Services are scheduled at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is Friday from 4-8 pm.  The family has entrusted the services to Green Hill Funeral Home.  400 E. Teel Rd. 918-224-2312
