Obituary of Vernell Heath, Sr.

Vernell (Bunch) Heath, Sr. was born to Walter and Matilda Heath in Mounds, Oklahoma on October 22, 1936. He was the baby in a family of 8. He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings. Vernell attended Lowrance School and continued his educations at Booker T. Washington in Sapulpa. After finishing school, he worked for the Mayo Hotel and city of Sapulpa. Upon retirement he started his own sanitation business. Vernell married his high school sweetheart, Opal Barnes. They were blessed with two boys, Vernell, Jr. and Larry. Vernell and Opal spent many happy years together before preceding him in death in May 2013. Vernell became a member of St. John Baptist Church in 1988 where he remained a faithful member until he was called home. He leaves to mourn his homegoing two sons, Vernell Heath, Jr. and Larry (Joyce) Heath; one granddaughter, Tiffany Heath; three grandsons, Kiley Pankey, Larry Marshall and Jacob Heath; two great-grandsons, Darus Jackson Jr. and Dre’Dyn Hill; two great-granddaughters, KeAuri and Zyien Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, extended family and friends. www.greenhillok.com .
