Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reverend Jack Clyde Carner was born July 3rd, 1935 to parents Virgil and Vinnie (Wesley) Carner in Beggs, Oklahoma. He went home to Glory on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 at the age of 85. He grew up around the Sapulpa area where he met and married the love of his life Corene. They were married on March 26th, 1953. They settled in Mounds after spending a short time in Stillwater, where he obtained his plumbing license. They raised 4 children in Mounds, where he still called home. He pastored the Pentecostal Holiness church in Mounds while owning and operating a plumbing shop in Sapulpa for many years. They then decided to follow God’s calling and sold their plumbing business and moved to Braggs to pastor the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Once he got settled in town, he decided to go to work for the City of Braggs in the Public Works Department. He then decided it was time to retire but God had other plans and used him as an interim pastor of several churches and finally retired from full time ministry at the Sunshine Community Church in 2014. Jack loved life and truly lived it. He was an avid deer hunter making countless trips to Colorado to hunt with family and friends. Family was easily the most important thing to him, however OU football placed a close second. Jack is survived by his wife of 67 years, Corene Lawson Carner. Their 4 children, Jackie and wife Terry of Glenpool, Tommy Carner of Mounds, Denise and husband Bob Hensley of Oklahoma City and Kenneth (Joe) and wife Susan Carner of Mounds. 13 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren with another one soon to arrive. Brothers, Col. Paul Carner and Kelly (Buck) Carner. He also had a host of family and friends he considered family. He is predeceased by both parents, several other family members including 1 Grandson, Derrick Carner and 1 Great Grandson, Jaxxon Allen He had many names… Jack, Jack Clyde, Brother Jack, Pastor but, the names he treasured most was Dad and Grandpa. To know him was to love him and truly know what is like to be loved back unconditionally. Family requests wearing masking and maintaining social distancing during the services. www.greenhillok.com
