David Phillip Badgwell Sr., passed away August 10, 2008 at Hillcrest hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 65. He was born on July 2, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. The son of Roy Bruce and Claudia (Paxton) Badgwell. He was married to Dorothy Janet (Lewis) Badgwell on October 27, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. To this union were born 3 sons; David, Richard and Ronald. Mr. Badgwell was employed for a number of years as a roofer and a painter until he became disabled in 1979. He truly devoted his life to his family, doing everything in his power to meet their needs and provide comfort, encouragement and support. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time outdoors. He was a devoted Husband, father, grandfather and friend to his family and many friends. Friends and family members were amazed at his ability to put the needs of others ahead of his own. His home was always open to his many friends and family members. He has been a member of the Holy Family Cathedral in down town Tulsa since 1962.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Janet (Lewis) Badgwell of the home in Tulsa; brothers; John Badgwell of Sapulpa, Raymond Badgwell of Tulsa; sisters; Claudia (Badgwell) Poyner of Tulsa, Mary (Badgwell) Serene of Tulsa; 3 sons; David Badgwell  of Cleveland, Richard Badgwell of Terlton, Ronald Badgwell of Tulsa; six grandchildren; David Badgwell III of Cleveland, Jon Badgwell of Tahlequah, Crystal Dawes of Terlton, Debbie Fry of Cleveland, Richard Badgwell II of Terlton, Michael Badgwell of Terlton. Four great-grandchildren; Laylee Badgwell of Tulsa, Cayden Badgwell of Cleveland, Austin Fry of Cleveland and Matthew Dawes of Terlton. In addition to numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
