Obituary of Carmen Caliva
Carmen Erives Pedregon Caliva, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 20th, 2018 at Green Tree Care facility Tulsa, Oklahoma
Carmen was born November 14,1923 and raised in the pueblo of Santo Tomas, municipality of Guerrero, State of Chihuahua, Mexico. The Daughter of Ignacio “Nacho” Pedregon and Guadalupe “Lupita” Erives.
Carmen emigrated to the United Stated, became a citizen and eventually settled in Salina Kansas with husband Robert “Bob” Caliva and Children; Arthur Bronson Reyes, Pedro “Pete” Reyes, Carmen “Lettie” Bellew, Rosalia “Rosie” Moody, Sergio “Louie” Reyes and Robert “Robs” Caliva. Carmen learned English as a second language, attended and graduated Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kansas and worked various jobs in her life, from adult care giver, baby sitter, restaurant worker and homemaker. She was an avid gardener, story teller, enjoyed, camping, fishing, the outdoors, knitting, sewing and loved to cook. Carmen was very strong willed, constantly trying to learn and improve herself, she was also very generous, collecting and delivering clothes and goods for the more unfortunate in her home town of Santo Tomas. Her laughter was infectious and could light up a room, she was also known to tell some off-color jokes and always loved to sing and dance. Carmen made lots of friends in her life time, was well respected and will be missed dearly by everyone she touched with her heart.
Carmen is survived by husband; Bob, children; Bronson, Pete, Lettie, Rosie, Louie and Rob, Grandchildren; Matt Moody, Weston Moody, Sasha Reyes, Kristen Reyes, Brandon Bellew, Sophie Caliva, Juliet Caliva and William Caliva. Carmen also has 3 surviving brothers; Sergio, Jorge, Samuel and 2 sisters; Lupe, Guermina as well as many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Andrea.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Oct 25 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel, Sapulpa 400 East Teel Road, Sapulpa
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct 24 from 11:00 to 8:00 PM at Green Hill Funeral Home, Sapulpa 400 East Teel Road, Sapulpa
Carmen's Final Resting Place is in Green Hill Veterans Mausoleum 400 East Teel Road, Sapulpa
