Obituary of Phillip Terry Robinson
Phillip (Terry) Robinson, 73 of Owasso, Oklahoma, passed away on December 23, 2018. He was formerly a resident of the Gibtown area for over 35 years. Terry had suffered a “long good-bye” due to Parkinson’s, severe dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Terry grew up in Jacksboro, Texas, graduating in 1965 from JHS. He was in the navy from 1966-1969, serving on the Bon Homme Richard on three tours to Vietnam.
He was the middle child of the seven children born to Herman and Birdernia Robinson. Both of his parents and two brothers, Glen and Gary (Phillis) preceded him in death.
Terry was a welder who taught welding at Odessa College where he had an associate’s degree. He was a letter carrier with the postal service for over 20 years.
Terry met his wife, Mary Joy, on a blind date in September 1982 and they were married March 4, 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Joy, of Owasso, Oklahoma. Two sons, Tony (Pam) of Santo, Texas, Kelly (Jennifer) of Parker, Colorado, Mary Joy’s children ( who looked to him as a father figure) Suzanne (Allen) of Owasso, Oklahoma and Scott (Jacob) of Denver, Colorado. Sisters Linda Smith (Gerald) of Mineral Wells, Texas, Debra Moore (Monte) of Azle, Texas. Brothers Dennis (Cheryl) of Lake Whitney, Texas and Darrell (Charolette) of Houston, Texas. Four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many relatives and friends and very special caregivers, Cindy, Martha, and Candy.
Terry has been a member of Gibtown Baptist Church for over 35 years, serving as a deacon, Sunday school Superintendent, and teacher.

Terry’s pallbearers are longtime friends and postal workers.
