Obituary of Debra Kay Wheeler
Debra “Debbie” Kay (Nichols) Wheeler was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Orville Nichols and Velda (Burden) on June 20, 1957. She passed away at her home in Kellyville on January 5, 2019.
Debbie attended Sapulpa and Bixby Schools, graduating from Bixby. She worked for Liberty Glass as a Lehr Inspector, Gate Attendant at Shepherd’s Point, Heyburn Lake and was a homemaker. Debbie married Randy Lamar Wheeler and they shared 25 years together, 18 years of marriage as well as 7 children between them. She helped raise 2 grandchildren with Randy. She was fun loving with a good sense of humor. She loved being at the lake and enjoyed fishing and bowling. Her other favorite place was the American Legion where she served as the President of the Women’s Auxiliary. She was a wonderful cook, making the best chicken and dumplings. Christmas and Thanksgiving were her favorite holidays and she loved cooking the big holiday meals for her family. Above all Debbie loved her family.
Debbie was preceded in death by her son Billy Harris; grandson Brycen Harris; her mother Velda Redfern; her sister Kathy Archer; and beloved pet Buster. She is survived by husband Randy Wheeler; children Byanna Wheeler, Annie Wheeler, Jennifer Eddleman and husband David all of Sapulpa, Rusty Harris and wife Michell of Hulbert, Tracy Wheeler and Randy Wheeler, Jr.; grandchildren D.J., Chelsey and Autumn Eddleman, Hunter and Luke Harris, Jake Seay-Harris, Alexsis Seay; father Orville Nichols and step-mother Pauline Nichols; step-father Bill Redfern; siblings Judy Grigg and husband Billy Kozikuski, Paula Simmons and husband Keith, Michael Hughes and wife Cindy and Randy Redfern and wife Eyde; special pet Gizmo; and many more family and friends.
A Celebration of Her Life was held at the American Legion on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:00 am. The family has entrusted their loved one to Green Hill Funeral Home. 918-224-2312/www.greenhillok.com
