Obituary of John Mathew Brown

 

John Mathew Brown, loving husband, father, grandpa” grandpap”, brother, day care provider and Army veteran passed away suddenly in his home January 16th ,2019.

John was born in East Liverpool, Ohio to Kenneth and Ada Brown on July 25th, 1946. John enlisted in the Army at age 21 on January 31st,1967. After one year of training was sent to deployment in October of 1968 and 1969.

John met the love of his life Jeri Lynn and was a devoted husband for 51 years. John and Jeri married on September 9, 1967 at East Liverpool, Ohio Trinity Presbyterian Church, By Reverend Gene Toot. John and Jeri enjoyed cooking together and spending time with their family. John loved spoiling his grandchildren, wife and fur babies.

John was blessed to have a large family of grandkids, who he enjoyed taking all his grandkids fishing. John and his wife Doris blessed the family with 5 grandchildren, Isis Brown, Briana Middleton, Joshua Maujer, Blake Holliman, Taryn  and Nate Johnston. John also has one great grand child Kimber Johnston. Christina and husband Bryan blessed the family 6 grandchildren Cassidy, Linden, Lukas and Eva Boyce, Lance Bennet and Jack Bennet.  John was a loving brother in law and was surrounded by Corrine Donley, Joan Barnes (Dana) and Dorothy Russell.

Employment was always fun for John. After spending his time in the Army he worked various different places like Service Merchandise, Java Dave’s coffee, Big Lots, GetGo and Kum and go. John retired and started helping Jeri run her home daycare. After Jeri’s passing John held onto her legacy and ran the daycare for 2 years by himself with a little help from his dog Foxy.

John was a giving and great man who enjoyed making sure that everyone was taken care of in his life. John will forever be missed but is rejoicing in the site of his dearly missed wife. Services will be held February 2nd, 2019 at 2 PM.  Green Hill Funeral Home of Owasso Chapel. Owasso Oklahoma
