Obituary of Russell Franklin Orick
Russell Franklin Orick was born in Harlem County, Kentucky on August 15, 1938 to Russell Lloyd Orick and Agnes (Smith) Orick. He was cared for in his home by many family members; Gene, Angie, Jerred and Blue Richison, Jordan and Alisha Williamson, and Kara Auld. He received wonderful care from the loving and caring staff of Compassus Hospice and passed away in his home, surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 80. He was reunited with the love of his life, his wife Connie, in Heaven on February 13, 2019.
Russell’s home was built by family, for him and his wife, so they could be with the people he loved so much. Russell and his wife Connie had a wonderful marriage, lasting 56 years. He loved his wife so well that everyone around could see their love. The couple was blessed with 3 daughters. He cared for Connie at home throughout her long illness. For Russell, there was nothing more important than family. He loved with his whole heart. He had an accommodating personality and always tried to make people feel welcome. He was always ready to offer food, drink and a place to sit, even if it was his own. He had a gift for hospitality and making others comfortable. He believed in his children, supported them in all their endeavors and celebrated their accomplishments. He was a caring and affectionate husband and father. Two words describe how he lived his life. “He loved.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie, his sister Gail, brother Ray and brother Johnny Darrell. He is survived by a host of family and friends.
