Obituary of Luther Leon Wolfe, Jr.

In a time of cynicism, a time when indifference is fashionable and compassion is suspect, Luther “Luke” Wolfe, Jr. was a wide-eyed believer. Luke believed in the decency of people, though he had surely seen their evil.  He expected good from people because it was in his own nature to do good.

He believed in the magic of laughter and could dispense this magic generously.  With a clever and delinquent wit, Luke brightened rooms, culled gloominess and relived tension from many awkward family moments.  His humor was wonderfully irreverent, usually inappropriate and always exactly what we needed.

Luke believed in the strength of family and the deep roots that tie us together. He was proud of our family, those who are with us and those who have passed.  If you were a member of Luke’s family, you were special in his eyes and in his heart.

Luke was wise and strong and charitable.  He was rich with empathy borne from his own hard times.  He cared deeply for people, sometimes more deeply that he should and often at his own great expense.

When Luke passed, he left a hole in our family that we will each feel throughout our lives.  But he also leaves us memories.  Someday the sadness that veils our memories will fade, but the happiness of moments will persist.

Luke was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma September 7, 1961 to Luther Leon Wolfe, Sr. and Georgian (Drew) Wolfe.  He gained his wings in Heaven April 12, 2019 at the age 57. Luke attended Will Rogers High School.  He owned Wolfe Investigations and worked as a Private Investigator and Bounty Hunter.

He is survived by mother Georgian Drew; siblings Valorie Keys and husband Ted, Anita Platner, Jimmie Wolfe and wife Kim; children Jennifer Barrett, Luke Wolfe, III and wife Bre, Brett Wolfe, Brittney Wolfe, son-in-law Cameron Gray; grandchildren Nadalie, Luke IV, Serena, Emily, Scarlett, Shakota, Jessica, Nokusee, Ashley; life-long friend Bill Marion and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by grandparents Raymond and Stella Wolfe; father Luther Wolfe; daughter Dusty Duke; brother-in-law Tony Platner; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, April 16th at Oolagah Assembly of God with interment in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
