Obituary of Martin Blakesley
Martin Alan Blakesley was born on March 14, 1959 to James Eugene and Louella Blakesley (Dougherty) in Plainville, Kansas. He passed from this life on April 19, 2019 at the age of 60 at home. Martin was raised for most of his life in Benicia, California after the family moved there in 1962.
Martin married Amanda Caroline (Raper) on July 20, 2001 at Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church. He had three children; a daughter Micheal, a son James and another daughter, Allie.
Martin is survived by his wife, Amanda, his three children, Micheal Emery, James Blakesley and Allie Garst. His grandchildren, Kiona and Kody. His sister Sheila Charboneau and her daughter Connie. A brother Jim Blakesley and wife Chong and their children Derek, Carolee, Jani and Tony. A sister Debbie McDaniel and husband Dan and their children Jason, Joshua, Sean, Rachel and Hannah. A sister Deanna Fingerlin and husband John and their children Justin, Polly, and Jenna. Martin is survived by a host of other family members and friends that loved him dearly.
Martin is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter Cheyenne Blakesley.
Martin spent the last years of his life enjoying spending time with his siblings, playing with his beloved dog Millie and helping care for his mother-in-law before her death. Martin was an avid fisherman from a young age and loved to work on cars. He had a love for woodwork and was a gifted carpenter. Martin was employed at Oklahoma Fixture Company for a number of years until their closing. Martin spent the last 9 years wearing many hats at JB’s Market, doing any job that was asked of him. He loved his job and his co-workers and customers loved him. As a child, Martin loved to spend time at the bay located near his home. He has been a loving and loyal father, friend, husband, brother and son to all who knew him.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Apr 25 from 11:00-12:00 PM at Shelter Freewill Baptist Church 320 North 12th Street, Collinsville
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Apr 24 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel Owasso 9901 North Owasso Expressway, Owasso
