Obituary of Kathleen O'Connell

Kathleen Ann O'Connell passed away on April 29th in her home outside Sand Springs, Oklahoma, after battling various sicknesses and being bedridden for over 3 years. She is finally at peace and with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kathy was born on September 18, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio. She was the youngest of 3 children born to Lowell Eugene Hall and Janet Lucile (Cummins) Hall. She grew up in a secluded suburb of Chicago, Illinois, and had 2 minor degrees in computer programming and accounting.

Kathy was married to Larry Lee O'Connell, a highly decorated Combat Medic from the Viet Nam War. Larry was a highly sought after refrigeration mechanic for Cummins Diesel. With Kathy's degree in computer programming and Larry's expertise, they were invited to move to Australia by the Australian government. While living in Australia, Kathy started up a successful Native American Indian crafts supply store. After about 9 years, they moved back to the US, where Kathy began a Native American crafts supply house on the internet.

Kathy was very passionate about her Native American heritage, even though she was only about 3/8 Native American. When she was able, she helped the Native Americans in any way she could, and she dearly loved their customs.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lee O'Connell, her oldest brother, Gary Eugene Hall, and both of her parents. She is survived by her only living blood relative (other than a few distant cousins), her brother, Stephen Alan Hall.

The cremation will be performed by Green Hills Funeral Home in Sapulpa, OK, and a memorial service will be held at the Ft Gibson Veteran's Cemetery, on Wednesday May 15th at 1 PM. Her ashes will then be placed next to her husband there at Ft. Gibson.
