Obituary of Jerald Evans
Jerald Maxwell Evans was born September 20, 1988, and peacefully passed this life on January 21, 2025. Max attended Monte Cassino school “Thanks Monte and go Saints!” and was a graduate of Bishop Kelley High School. He attended Oklahoma State University until
illness interrupted his time there.
All his life, Max was an Anglophile- he loved all things British especially British comedy (Thank You Monty Python). He was a huge Formula 1 fan and was a devoted follower, long before Netflix made Formula 1 cool! He was very proud to have gone to races at three different circuits.
Max not only loved to watch fast cars but also to drive them. He was the guy who had his car (a candy apple red Audi TT) in his senior picture! He was a lifelong Audi driver and could tell you anything about an Audi automobile, be it a 1960s model or one sitting on the showroom floor.
Taking after his mother, Max was a very accomplished cook. At age six, he asked for, and got, a Cuisinart for Christmas. Before he could even legally drive, he was giving cooking demonstrations at Williams Sonoma. At 17, the Tulsa World ran an almost full-page article on his pizza making skills declaring him “The BK Teen with 1000 degrees of Heat!”. And anyone who ever had Max’s lamb chops, or his hummus, proclaimed them the best they’d ever eaten.
For the last 18 years Max fought a battle with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Max fought this incredibly
painful disease with tremendous bravery and grace. His family, while shattered by his passing, is comforted knowing he is now no longer in pain and is at peace. Max was preceded in death by his grandparents Jerry Naifeh, Beverly Naifeh, and Leland Evans. He is survived by his parents, Julia and Ralph Evans, his brother, Julian Evans, his grandmother, Lois Evans Seals, his dear friends Rianne and Patrick Huber, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins galore. A celebration of Max’s life will be held at the Oaks Country Club in Tulsa beginning at 4:30 pm on Thursday, January 30.
In lieu of flowers, Max’s family requests any memorials be directed to Make-A-Wish Oklahoma, in Max’s honor, to fund a Formula 1 Wish for an Oklahoma child with a life threatening illness.
