David Lewis Ausmus passed away from cancer at his home in Sapulpa on February 25, 2025. He was born December 31,1957, to Dee Jr and Julia Ausmus, Sapulpa, the seventh of eight children.

David served in the Navy from August 1975 through February 1995. He received numerous decorations, medals, badges, and citations for in service tours throughout Asia and Alaska. David was especially proud of his service to the JAG Corp.

As his health deteriorated, David was cared for by his lifelong, loyal friend Philip Sontag, new friend Pete Greenfield , his brother Jim and Brenda Ausmus and Millenium Hospice Care.

David's surviving siblings are Peggy O'Neal, Dan Ausmus, Teresa Ausmus, Jim Ausmus and Katie Ausmus. Predeceasing him are Eddie Ausmus and Regina Stickler.  Parents Dee Jr and Julia Ausmus passed away in 2015. 

Per David's wishes there will be no memorial service, only a simple private remembrance to scatter his ashes and quietly send his spirit along.  

Our Dad wished nothing more for David than peace for his restless soul. The same can be said for his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many others.  Peace be with you, David.
