Obituary of Frances Lucille Hurst

Please share a memory of Frances to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Frances Lucille Hurst was born in Chambers County, Alabama on August 1st, 1936 to Hensley Payne and Annie Mae Sanders. She went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances grew up with her eleven brothers and sisters, five older and six younger. She married the love of her life, Milford B. Hurst, on August 1st, 1952 (her sixteenth birthday). They started their family in Alabama, then moved to Oklahoma in September 1957. They were married for 47 ½ years before Milford went to Heaven on January 29th, 2000.

Frances loved to cook and did that professionally from 1969 to 1990 for a few restaurants in the Sapulpa and Tulsa area. She especially loved cooking wonderful meals for her family; and welcomed them all into her home as often as possible. She loved to be surrounded by family! She also enjoyed the outdoors and in later years she would sit outside just to enjoy God’s creation. She was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church and attended regularly until she physically could not. She put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and she has faith that he died and rose again so that we may have everlasting life. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6.

She is survived by seven of her loving children: David Hurst and Susan Snow (Tulsa), Hubert and Dianna Hurst (Sapulpa), Mrs. Dennis (Sue) Kurtz (Burleson, TX), Ronnie Hurst (Mounds), James and Lori Hurst (Grandview, TX), Junior and Kathy Hurst (Collinsville), and Billy Hurst (Sapulpa).

She also adored her grandchildren: Adam Snow (Tulsa), Brandi and DJ Rossbach (Kiefer), Danna and Matt Trosper (Sapulpa), Steve and Carey Kurtz (Claremore), Stacy and Chris Rogers (Crowley, TX), Tessa Kurtz (Westminster, CO), Jared and Myra Kurtz (Turlock, CA), Carrie Hurst (Mounds), Jamie and Sam Johnson (Burleson, TX), Amy and Justin Johnson (Burleson, TX), Jonny and Kelley Hurst (Godley, TX), Stephanie and Drew Killingsworth (Berryville, AR), and Anthony and Molly Hurst (Sapulpa). She was also blessed with nineteen great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She left behind one sister, Peggy and Bill Forde (Yulee, FL).

Frances was preceded in death by her parents Hensley P. and Annie Mae Sanders, her devoted husband Milford B. Hurst, her precious baby daughter Barbara Ann Hurst, her caring daughters-in-law: Jo Ann Hurst, Chata Lynn Hurst, and Linda Tanner Hurst, her adoring son-in-law: Dennis Loy Kurtz, her protective brothers: Junior Sanders, Charlie Sanders, Joe Ray Sanders, Clarence Sanders, Riser Sanders, Billy Sanders, Floyd Sanders, her close-knit sisters: Jean Powers, Ora Mae Fincher, and Betty McElhanon, and her life-long sweet best friend: Betty Sanders.
