Obituary of Brenda Kay Courtney

Brenda Kay Courtney, of Mounds, died at 1:05 am on Saturday, March 01, 2025 at St. John’s hospital after a long but strong fight with cancer.

 

Brenda was born on October 31, 1963 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Charles Courtney, she was raised by her mother Sandra Bright Parker and her second dad Doc Parker. She is proceeded in death by two brothers Charles and Larry Courtney.

 

Brenda graduated from Kiefer High School with the class of 1981, Brenda went on to receive her Associates Degree from OSU in Digital Arts


She is survived by her daughter Sarah, son-in-law Derrick and grandchildren Farrah, Zaleigh and Kashton of Kiefer, her nephews Jesse Courtney, Phillip Courtney and fiancé Michelle, and one niece Devynn Courtney, Mary Followill of Mounds, and two “brothers from another mother” Brandon & Colby Rogers-Plott of Denver, Colorado.

 

Brenda’s visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Green Hill Funeral Home. Services will be Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Green Hill Funeral Home with interment at Green Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Green Hill Funeral Home.
