Tammy Yvonne Owens

December 9th, 1961 – March 4th, 2025

 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tammy Yvonne Owens, who passed away on March 4th, 2025, at the age of 63. Tammy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose caring nature and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

 

Tammy was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Lorrie Ann Roth of Bixby, Oklahoma; her mother, Dolores Francis Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her father, Edward W. Smith of Brunswick, Georgia; her nephew, Eddie Jay Bradley Penrose of Bixby, Oklahoma; her brother-in-law, Lee Baker; brother-in-law, Melvin Clowers; mother-in-law, Joyce Ann Owens; her nephew, Emilio Zuniga, and her niece, Brooke Owens.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of many years, Karl Owens of Owasso, Oklahoma; her children, Stephanie & Mike Singleton of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Rachel & Josh Robertson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Devan & Aerial Owens of Tempe, Arizona; her grandchildren, Chloe N. Singleton, Steven Cash Singleton, and her great-grandchild, Everett Don Ray. Tammy also leaves behind her sisters, Darlene Baker, Marlene Clowers, and Kimberly Bishop; her nephews, Lee Baker, Melvin Clowers, and Kevin Bishop; and her niece, Kimberly Woodward.

 

Tammy was known for her love of nature, often found planting and tending to her garden, or enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. She had a passion for cleaning, cooking, canning, and taking care of others, always putting the needs of her family and friends first. Tammy’s love for music, Sunday talks with her granddaughter, and time spent with family brought her great joy. She was a devoted caretaker, always seeking ways to comfort and support those around her.

 

An interesting piece of her life included her role as an extra in the iconic S.E. Hinton movie “The Outsiders”, a memory she fondly shared with her loved ones.
