In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the One Church general fund or to another charity of your choosing.

Janet Elaine Drain-Taylor, the adored wife of James Taylor and stepmother to Anya Schreitmueller was called home in the late hours of March 25th after battling on-going health issues. Elaine was born in 1949 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Calvin and Dee Drain. While Elaine was an only child, she had a large extended family that she held dear to her heart and loved to share her memories of them with those she cared about.

She was raised in the Church and believed in the Word deeply, influencing the way she approached life - with kindness, love, and compassion. She often expressed this most beautifully through her gift of music, whether playing the piano or singing a song that brought a tear to your eye.

Elaine met her husband, James, later in life but knew she wanted to date him the minute they met. While it took persistence to get him to go out with her the first time, it did not take long for love to bloom between the two of them. They were married on May 20, 2006, and spent almost 19 years together. While Elaine was never blessed with having her own biological children, she was the godmother to many and adopted so many more to her heart as her children that called her ‘Mom.’  This included her opening her heart to James’ adult daughter, Anya, from a previous marriage.

Elaine is survived by her husband, stepdaughter, extended family, and friends.

While we are devastated that we could not keep you, we are comforted with knowing that God has one of his most blessed angels back in his arms.
