Judith Ann Mayes was born December 1st, 1941, to Donald and Margaret Mayes. Judith attended school in Joplin, Missouri, until she graduated from high school in 1959. She attended two years of junior college and graduated with a degree in business. She met her future husband, Jimmie Donn Manley, at the wedding of Jim’s sister, Jerrel Deane. After a short engagement, they married on February 4th, 1961. They had three children: January, Jimmie, and Jerry. Judith was a homemaker for a good portion of her life, taking care of the household and the children. Jimmie moved the family to Tulsa, OK, in 1973 for work. While there, Judith was actively involved in her children’s schools, volunteering in their classes. In 1976, they moved to Bixby, OK.
Judith and her family began attending the First United Methodist Church of Bixby, where she made friends and became deeply involved in the church. Through friendships at the church, she joined the Bixby Garden Club. She acted as the President of the Garden Club for many years. She was ever the hostess and loved hosting parties, family holidays, and numerous Garden Club events. Judith joined the workforce in the 1980s, working for a few years at Mothercare in Woodland Hills Mall. However, Judy was well known in the community because she also worked at Citizens’ Security Bank. She retired after 10 years from CSB, but she didn’t stay in retirement for long. Judy began helping at the family funeral home, Green Hill, in Sapulpa, OK. Once again, she was well loved by the families she met.
Judith leaves behind her children, January Moody, Jim Manley, and his wife, Kari, and Jerry Manley and his girlfriend, Christa Yarbrough; her grandchildren, Jentry Hamilton and husband, Joshua, Nathan Moody and wife, Ashley, J.D. Manley, Austen Ferrell Manley and wife, Ashley, and Jackson Manley; her great-grandchildren, Hadley and Colum Hamilton; many nieces, nephews and friends. Service will be held at the First Methodist Church of Bixby, OK, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The family has entrusted the services to the Funeral Directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
