Stephanie Kay Mark Obituary

Stephanie “Stevie” Mark was born on June 15, 1949, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Neal and Jean Whitley. She passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her loved ones.

In her early years, Stevie had a deep love for horses and enjoyed barrel racing. She was also a talented singer in the school choir, played piano, and was an active member of the thespian club. Raised in the floral industry, she was deeply involved in her family’s business, Neal and Jean’s Flowers in Sapulpa.

In 1985, Stevie earned her paralegal degree, launching an extraordinary legal career that spanned over 35 years. She was deeply passionate about her work and was an active volunteer in both local and national paralegal associations. Stevie served as President of the Tulsa Area Paralegal Association (TAPA) and the Oklahoma Paralegal Association (OPA), as well as Region IV Director for the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). Over the years, she dedicated her time to numerous committees across these organizations and served in various leadership roles on the NALA board.

Professionally, Stevie made her mark working at the United States Attorney’s Office, Hall Estill, and several prominent law firms in Tulsa. Her dedication, kindness, and leadership left a lasting legacy in the legal community.

Outside of work, Stevie enjoyed flowers and gardening, always maintaining an immaculate lawn and beautifully landscaped home. She also loved nostalgic TV, concerts, music, reading, shopping, Scottie dogs, and spending time with her family and friends. But Stevie’s greatest joy was always her family.

She is survived by her brother Jeff Whitley, and his wife Diana, her children Gretchen Mark and Wilson “Zachary” Mark and his wife Kendra, six cherished grandchildren Tameya Mayhew, Paige Mayhew, Payton Mayhew, Gracie Mark, Cashion Mark, and JT Mark, and one adored great-grandchild, Elijah Tecson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Neal and Jean Whitley.

Stevie will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her warmth, love, and humor touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy lives on in the lives of those she loved most.
