Scott Denton Harris was born on August 17, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents Glen and Dorothy Harris. He passed away on October 11, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1976. Right after High School, he chose to follow in his father’s footsteps and became a machinist. He worked for Ruhrpumpen for 46 years. He also taught machine shop classes at Tulsa Tech for several years along the way.
Scotty loved watching OU football and softball games, fishing, and bowling. He excelled in Karate, obtaining the rank of the third-degree black belt.
Scotty was so smart and had a wide range of knowledge on almost any subject, even being teased by his siblings growing up for his “Book of Knowledge.” Some of his favorites were car repair, gardening, guns, cameras, and photography. He even ran the sound system for the band Rhythm Fish, and at Dead Man Walking Church.
There are so many things to remember and miss about Scotty, but we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
