Rondal Lee "Ron" Bodenstein Obituary

Rondal Lee Bodenstein was born March 6, 1934 in a farm house in Grove, OK to John and Millie Drake Bodenstein. He grew up in Grove where he met his wife Barbara Ursula Cook Bodenstein. They married May 2, 1954.

They lived in Tulsa, until moving to their homeplace in Kiefer in 1967. There they raised three children, David Lee, Claire Elizabeth, and Timothy Paul.

Growing up in Grove, his first job was delivering ice. He sang in a gospel quartet in high school and even performed on the radio. He became a tool and die machinist at a young age and did that his whole life, fully retiring at 88 years of age.

With Barbara, he loved to travel anywhere the road would take them. Often they went to Branson, but they also went to Disney World (just the two of them!), and twice they cruised to Alaska. For the two of them, getting there was part of the fun.

Rondal loved his Kiefer Community. He served on the Kiefer Public School Board for two terms. He was member of the Masonic Lodge, where he served as Worshipful Master, and the Order of the Eastern Star, where he served as Worthy Patron.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bodenstein, his daughter, Beth Exendine, his parents, John and Millie Drake Bodenstein, his brothers, Robert, John, and Dan Bodenstein, and his sister Katherine Fields.

He is survived by his sons, David and Tim (and their families), his grandchildren, Sarah Jane, Christopher, Benjamin, and Johnathan, and his great grandchildren, and many other loved ones.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, at 2:30 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heroes on the Water, Northeast Oklahoma Division, or your favorite charity.
