Ruby Lee Smith Obituary

Ruby Lee Whitehouse-Smith was born to Martha and Stephen Whitehouse on September 20, 1924. She lived a remarkable life, reaching the age of 101. Ruby enjoyed her later years in the home she built with her beloved husband, Harold Gene Smith, alongside her cherished son, Richard Dale Smith. She was the proud sister to seven siblings and the doting grandmother to three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A trailblazer for women in the workforce, Ruby was the first woman to be employed at Liberty Glass.

Her family meant the world to her, and visitors could always expect a delicious home-cooked meal upon entering her door. Ruby peacefully departed this world to be with the Lord on December 11, 2025. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. We look forward to the day when we will be reunited in the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, Deceember 17, 2025, at Green Hill Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Green Hill Funeral Home.
