Kathy Laverne Jacobs, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma and recently of Lufkin, Texas passed away on February 22, 2026 in San Marcos, Texas. Born on September 25, 1955 to Edgar Arthur Vail and Laverne Grimes Vail in Pasadena, Texas. Kathy grew up moving around as a “military brat”, and finally settling in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated high school in 1974. She was a stay at home mom and volunteered in her children’s schools throughout elementary. Eventually, Kathy went to work as a floral designer for a number of years, and then as an insurance billing specialist. Just last year, she decided to move back to Texas, and in December, she bought a house in Lufkin. Kathy was looking forward to setting up her new home and being closer to family. Kathy is survived by her daughters, Amanda and her husband Jarrod, and Olivia and her husband Kevin, as well as her niece, Crystal and her significant other, Scotty. Kathy has seven grandchildren, Hailey and her husband Eric, Alex, and Grape, Robert, Elena, Charlie, and Kaitlyn, and 2 grandnieces, Makenzie and her husband Austin and Vivian and her significant other Ty. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Edgar Jr. A celebration of life will be held on March 2nd at 11am at Greenhill Funeral Home, 9901 Owasso Expy in Owasso, Oklahoma. Please wear bright colors instead of black.
