Thomas Jerry Henderson Obituary

Thomas “Jerry” Henderson, a faithful servant of Jesus, departed his earthly life to begin anew

with his Lord in Heaven on February 23, 2026.

Born in Winfield, Alabama on May 21, 1947, Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Arnel

Curtis Henderson and Naomi Pauline Henderson, sisters Virginia Nell Henderson and Dorothy

Sue Thompson, and the mother of his children, Sabrina Lynn Patman.

Left to cherish their memories of him are his children Ashleigh (Steven) Dugan, Jordan

Henderson, Wesley Henderson, and Chelsea (Chase) Vaughn; his grandchildren Kyleigh

Greene, Payton Greene, Wesley Henderson, and Van Vaughn.

Jerry grew up in Montgomery, Alabama where he played high school football. He never stopped

being a diehard fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, even after moving to Dallas to earn a degree

in electrical engineering, marrying Sabrina Patman, and putting down roots in Texas.

The first person on his father’s side to graduate college, Jerry first worked at Texas Instruments

before becoming one of the founding members of the technology company Spectradyne.

He later began business ventures in day trading and insurance. Jerry was known as a fellow

who knew something about everything. He was the first Fire Marshall for Parker, Texas and

instrumental in building its first volunteer fire company.

With all that he accomplished, Jerry was most satisfied that he taught his children about Jesus

and passed along to them the firm foundation of his Christian faith. His finest example of his

faith in God was the calm and assured way he faced the disease he fought for four years, and

the quiet courage he showed when it came time to face his end.

We’ll miss his happy presence at his grandchildren’s ballgames and events, hearing him cheer

them on, giving them pointers, and applauding their performances.
