It is with love and remembrance that we announce the passing of a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. 

Linda Joyce Kain passed away peacefully at home in Owasso, Oklahoma at 81 years of age on March 15, 2026.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Oren Thomas and Dorothy Thomas, her brothers Donald Thomas and Danny Thomas and her sister Sandra Thomas.  She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Loper and Sherry Porterfield, her children Stephanie Kain and Eric Kain, her grandchildren Emily Kain and Tanner Kain, along with many loved nieces and nephews. 

Linda was born in California but had a bit of a wandering soul -  also living in Texas, Florida, New Mexico and Oklahoma.  She was always up for an adventure and would travel by plane, train, bus or automobile to get there, often at a moment’s notice.  She held a variety of jobs over the years, and she always gave it her all.  She was kind, courteous and supportive to those she worked with.  She was very creative, especially when it came to making things for the cats in her later life.  Linda was always independent and little bit (OK, a lot) stubborn just like the rest of her family.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter, PBS station or to the Nature Conservancy.  One of her favorite places was The Joseph H. Williams Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in Oklahoma to visit the bison.
