Cheryl Sue Harker Obituary

Cheryl Sue Harker, age 78, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on April 5, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a life marked by faith, devotion, and love for her family and all who knew her. She was born on December 30, 1947, in Holloway, Kansas, and carried with her throughout her life the values of hard work, kindness, and Christian grace that shaped the woman she became.

Cheryl was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 1967, and she carried the lessons of her upbringing into every season of her life. She was a woman of steady character and quiet strength, and she lived in a way that reflected her deep faith in God. Her life was a testimony to prayer, perseverance, and the power of a loving heart. She was known by many as loving, kind, and generous, and those words beautifully describe the way she touched the lives of others.

For more than 20 years, Cheryl worked for Amvets Call Center, where she was respected for her dedication and dependable spirit. She also operated a home daycare for many years, providing care, comfort, and guidance to children in her home. Later, she continued her nurturing work through La Petite Daycare, where she served for eight years.

Family was the center of Cheryl’s world, and she loved hers deeply. She was married to Henry Harker for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Lloyd Thomas of Columbus, Kansas, and Ila Kathryn Thomas of Neosho, Missouri. She is survived by her children, Tammy Kay Addington and her husband Michael Scott Addington of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kandy Sue Brinkley and her husband Dennis Eugene Brinkley of Suffolk, Virginia, and Henry Eugene Harker III and his wife Christy Harker of Tampa, Florida. Cheryl also leaves behind her siblings, Carol Christine Trude of Owasso, Ok, Connie Lou Beal of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Carrie Lucille Anthony and her husband John Howard Anthony of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Lyle Thomas of Jennings, Oklahoma.

Cheryl’s love extended richly to her grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly. She is survived by Chelsea Emily Lynn Addington of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shane Michael Brinkley of Owasso, Oklahoma, Katelyn Denae Phillips of Owasso, Oklahoma, Amanda Lynn Harker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Madison Paige Hedman of Owasso, Oklahoma, Shaylee Marie McIntosh of Tampa, Florida, David Wayne Eugene Harker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brandon Dewayne Eugene Harker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jacie Erin McIntosh of Tampa, Florida. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Timothy Eugene Harker. Cheryl was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Remington, Lilliann, Leighton, Samuel, Maxwell, Wyatt, Kashton, and Maverick, each of whom brought her great joy. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, who called her "Aunt Red”,cousins, aunts, and uncles who will remember her with love and gratitude.

A woman of Christian faith, Cheryl lived with prayer in her heart and trust in the Lord as her guide. She was always praying for people and often called the prayer chain, believing deeply in the power of intercession and the comfort of God’s presence. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about, but something she lived out daily through compassion, encouragement, and steadfast hope. She loved life and especially treasured time spent with her family, who were the delight of her heart. She also had simple joys that reflected her gentle spirit, including her favorite color, hunter green, and her love for tulips.

Cheryl’s life was a blessing to those around her, and her memory will remain a source of comfort to all who knew and loved her. She lived with a servant’s heart and a faithful spirit, and she leaves behind an example of what it means to love well and trust God fully. As the Scripture reminds us in  2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” Cheryl Sue Harker will be remembered with deep affection, and her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
