Bernard “Bernie” Bartlett, Jr. 

July 30, 1954 – April 9, 2026

Bernard “Bernie” Bartlett, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2026, at the age of 71. He is now reunited with the love of his life, his wife Jennifer Bartlett, who preceded him in death in September.

Bernie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, coach, and friend whose presence made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He retired from American Airlines and spent many years coaching youth sports, including football, baseball, softball and basketball. Known for his intense and passionate coaching style, Bernie pushed young athletes to work hard, believe in themselves, and earn their place. Many who played for him remember not only the lessons he taught on the field, but the confidence and character he helped build that carried into their adult lives.

Above all, Bernie loved his family. He was a proud father to Brittany, Zach, Matt and Ashley, and was lovingly known as “Papa Bernie” to his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

Bernie will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, and the powerful presence he carried both on and off the field. The lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the lives he shaped will continue to live on through the many people who were lucky enough to know him.

Please join us to celebrate his life with pizza and a cold one, per Bernie’s request, on Saturday, April 25 from 5:00–8:00 PM (come and go) at American Legion Post 1/Premier Event Center, 1315 N. Utica Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma.
