Maurice K Uhrmacher Obituary
Maurice K Uhrmacher was born on December 4, 1928, in Avalon, Missouri to William R. and Vera Uhrmacher. He passed away on April 14, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mo, as he was called by his friends, was educated in Hale, Missouri and was a member of the Methodist Church. He started working for Lee Way Motor Freight in 1950, and they even held his position when he served in Korea. He worked at Lee Way for almost 35 years before retiring in 1984 at the age of 56. He served 23 months in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in February 1953.
He met Marjorie Hanavan upon returning from Korea. They dated for six weeks before marrying her on April 26, 1953. To this union two children were born, Joyce Gordon and Mark Uhrmacher. They made their home in the Kansas City area until they moved to Oklahoma City by transfer in 1966.
Mo and Marge bought their first membership in Falconhead in 1972 and built their permanent home there in 1979. Their house backed up to the 18th Fairway of the golf course. He was appointed to the Board in 1984, and he gave many hours of volunteer service over the years to Falconhead membership. He was very proud of the many projects he helped complete.
He loved golfing; he even played golf almost every day until he was 93 years old and still shot par’s. He also loved fishing, watching the horse races, and going to the casino.
Mo was preceded in death by his parents William and Vera Uhrmacher, his brother Richard Uhrmacher, half sisters Thayle Anderson and Mona Thompson, half brother Harold Uhrmmacher, and son in law Michael Gordon
He is survived by his wife Marjorie Uhmacher, daughter Joyce Gordon, son Mark Uhrmacher and wife Shelly, three grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, plus many other living family and friends.
Mo had a great sense of humor, he loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a big man with a big heart who was kind, humble, respected, and loved!
Always loved, forever missed, never forgotten.
