James Lee Chalk Obituary

James Lee Chalk, a cherished Father, Brother and Uncle known for his kind, loving, caring, and one of kind sense of humor, left this world on April 17, 2026. He is rejoicing with His Savior and he has heard “Well done thou Good and Faithful Servant.” One of his favorite verses was 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” James has received his Crown in Glory. 


 


Born on October 16, 1952, in Torence, California, to Boyd and Ivaree Chalk, James lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others and honor to the Lord His God.  He accepted Jesus as His Lord as Savior at the Free Will Baptist Church. 


 


James Lee Chalk is proceeded in death by his Mother Ivaree Chalk, Father Boyd Chalk, Sister Rosie Chalk, Sister Sharon Cosby, Sister Debrah Thornbrugh, and Nephew Shannon Hilburn.


 


He is survived by his Sister Teresa Hilburn, Son Jamie Chalk, Son Jerry and Kathleen Chalk, Daughter Tricia Chalk-Lawrence, and Son Jason and Danielle Chalk. He is also survived by Grandchildren Dylan Chalk, Chloe Chalk, Daniel (Danny) Chalk, Levi Chalk, Trevor Chalk, Landon Lawrence, Lillian (Lilly Belle) Chalk, Addie Grace Lawrence, Hera Maves, Kaden Pierson, Riley Mae Chalk.  He is a survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.   


 


James Lee Chalk graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1971. He graduated from Oklahoma State University of Technology in 1973 and entered the workforce the very next day.  James was a licensed Electrician, and he had a 51-year career working for several companies with excellence.   James loved his family and took care of the ones he loved. 


 


James Lee Chalk accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age.  He was active in many churches throughout his life.  James was open with his Faith, and the Love of Jesus that changed his life forever.  He enjoyed sharing the Good News with anyone who would listen, saying often “My Jesus loves me, and that’s all that matters.” 


 


James Lee Chalk was a beacon of kindness and love who will forever reside in our hearts. His legacy, exemplified by the Love of Christ and his compassion, will continue to inspire and guide us.   James has received his Heavenly reward and is fishing in Heaven by the River of Live, the Crystal Sea, waiting for you and me. 


 


A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home. His final resting place will be in South Heights Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Green Hill Funeral Home.
