John Tyler Morris Obituary

John Tyler Morris, age 36, ran to the arms of Jesus on April 27, 2026, in Tulsa Oklahoma. Tyler was born on July 26, 1989, in Tulsa, to John Morris and Kim Wilson.

Growing up Tyler enjoyed hanging out with his grandma, Fronnie, and all his family and friends. He could often be found exploring the woods or trying to build a treehouse (part of which is still present today). He received his first guitar at age 12 and was determined to teach himself how to play, and oh did he do just that. He also loved to fish, and he never failed to tell you the story of the biggest bass he ever caught.

He attended Sapulpa High School where he was involved in sports and was even an avid wrestler. He and his group of friends were often known as “the gang” and they became lifelong buddies. Tyler was a hard worker and had many jobs over the years, but he sure had his favorites. He was a salesman in Branson and often told stories of his time there. His last job probably meant the most to him, being a merchandise clerk for Home Depot. He made it a habit to share his faith with his co-workers or just plainly say, “I’m blessed”.

Tyler would tell you his proudest moment was the day he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved to study the word and never left his house without his bible. He was baptized on March 8, 2026, at Foundation Church, a place he loved and forever cherished.

He was preceded in death by his mom Kim Wilson, and his grandparents Fronie and John Morris, and Jessie Wilson.

He is survived by his dad John Morris, his sister Ashley Clanton, his grandma Carolyn Wilson, and many extended family and friends.

Tyler would also say some of his biggest blessings came in the form of two nurses, Annie and Kim, from AVOW hospice. He often referred to them as his guardian angels, and one had the exact name of his own mother.

He was a blessing to all he encountered. He always had the biggest smile, and you were always welcome anytime. His greatest wish was to lead people to Jesus and no doubt he did.
