Alvin Arthur Farley Obituary

Alvin Arthur Farley Obituary

Alvin Arthur Farley, Longtime resident of Sapulpa, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026.  He was born on December 7, 1942, to David Lem Farley and Lula Mae Farley in Plainview, Ok.  He graduated from Graham High School in Dustin, OK. After high school, he joined the US Army where he achieved the rank of Sergent.  Upon retuning home, he worked various jobs until meeting the love of his life.  He married Linda Kaye Farley on December 30th, 1967.  After the marriage, Linda and Alvin raised two sons in Sapulpa, Justin Arthur Farley and Jeffrey Arlen Farley.  During this time, they were active church members at the First Church of the Nazarene where he drove the church bus, assisted with Sunday School, and was a board member. He was also active in Little League baseball and the Cub Scouts.  Alvin was a longtime steel worker, starting at Armco, Sheffield Steel, and retiring from Gerdau.

Alvin was a family man that always put the needs of others before his own.  He never met a stranger, and he loved to go and visit with family and friends.

In his free time, Alvin was a dedicated gardener and enjoyed trying out new varieties of plants to see if he could make them grow bigger and better.  He always had an abundance and loved giving away his produce.  Many summers were spent fishing with family, fondly known as the Farley family fishing trips.  He was also a active bowler competing in several leagues.  Although Alvin considered himself to be a simple man, others knew him to be wiser than most.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Alvin is survived by his sister, Mary Grissett of Tulsa and a brother, Marshall and wife, Judy Farley of Parma, MI.  Also survived by a son, Justin and wife Kelli Farley, grandkids, Jordan and Allison Farley of Sapulpa. In addition, youngest son, Jeffrey Farley of Sapulpa and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and lulu Farley, brothers, William Farley, Floyd Farley, David Farley, and sisters, Pearl Craft, and Polly Williamson.
