Sherry Ann Shipman was born to Charles and Dorothy Mowry on August 24, 1946. Sherry lost her father, Charles, at a very young age. Dorothy later married Merton Keifer, who lovingly raised Sherry as his own daughter and became an important part of her life.

Sherry married Jerry Shipman in 1963, and together they raised four children, Doug, Paula, Todd and Scott. Sherry devoted her life to raising her family and creating a loving home for her children and grandchildren.

During the 1970’s/early 80s, Sherry managed The Sports Shoe, a shoe store within Sapulpa Sporting Goods, owned by her parents. Through that business she became well known in the community for her friendly smile and caring personality. She also worked at IMCO Recycling before later becoming a nurse, a profession that reflected her compassionate heart and desire to care for others.

Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved son, Doug Shipman; her father, Charles Mowry; and her parents, Dorothy and Merton Keifer.

She leaves behind her children: Paula Crenshaw and husband Carl, Todd Shipman, and Scott Shipman and wife Julie.

Sherry was a proud grandmother to Tyler Wilkerson (Tina), Matt Wilkerson (Heather), Rylie Crenshaw, Brady Crenshaw, Tess Shipman, Troy Shipman, Morgan Thomas (Michael), Montana Harris (Austin), Dillon Youngblood (Michele), Lane Youngblood (Maria), Porter McAlister (Trinity), and Peyton McAlister.

She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Christina, Patrick, Cayden, Kaylee, Tatum, Braden, Rylie, Kinsley, Derek, Blaiklee, Axle, Cruze, Nash, Hazel, Averi, and Paxton; and great-great-grandchildren Johnny, Taelyn, and Mateo.

Sherry cherished the close relationships she shared with her many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and the beloved pets she adored throughout the years, all of whom brought tremendous joy to her life. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her strength and independence, and the kindness, compassion, and care she showed to everyone around her.

Services are scheduled at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 27th at 2 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home with interment in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in the care of Green Hill Funeral Home.
