Obituary of JUANITA Lillian CHILDRESS

Juanita L. (Petitt) Childress, 97, of Sapulpa, OK left this earth to live in Heaven with her Savior on December 31, 2014 at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home in Sapulpa, of pneumonia. Juanita was born to Van Pierce and Gracie Myrtle (Hoyle) Petitt on the very first Flag Day, June 14, 1917. She always told her children and grandchildren that the flags were put out to honor her birthday. She was born and raised in the Cushing, OK area and then at the age of 26 moved to Sapulpa. She lived in Sapulpa the rest of her life. She worked as a waitress, cab dispatcher, house cleaner and Avon Representative, which she did for approximately 35 years. Juanita loved gardening and all kinds of animals. She was an avid quilter, and made many hand stitched quilts for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sapulpa, OK. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earnest Lloyd Childress, Sr.; and her son Earnest Lloyd Childress, Jr. Juanita was the first born child of nine children. She was also preceded in death by brothers Roy, Jewell and Marvin Petitt; sisters Cecil Moore Edith Gardner, Lily Johnson, Louise Coatney and Norma Jean Petitt. Juanita is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lillian F. (Childress) and D. Wayne Beebe; her grandchildren Melinda Beebe Coley, Clara Beebe Conner, Katie (Childress) Thomas and husband Roy, Rebecca Childress Colsten great-granddaughter and great-grandson-in-law Laura Camille (Coley) and Shannon Howell of Pea Ridge, AR; Ashley Renea Coley of Byhalia, MS; Allen Wayne and Nicole Danielle Conner of Sapulpa, OK; great-great-grandchildren Tyler Wayne, Rylee Camille, and Jaxon Zane Howell of Pea Ridge, AR, and step-great-great-grandchildren Hailey and Hannah Howell of Pea Ridge, AR. Juanita is also survived by a special niece, Patricia Sue Pickering, of Sapulpa, OK. She has also left behind her beloved dog Penny. Funeral Service was held at First Baptist Church (Sapulpa) on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dany Daniel officiating. Casket Bearers Delrey Pickering, Derrick Pickering, Charlie Coatney, Jr., Ron Petitt, Roy Thomas and Larry Eberle. Honorary Casket Bearers Allen Conner, David Norris, Roy Petitt and D. Wayne Beebe.
