Donald E. Durbin, age 85, of Sapulpa passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 surrounded by his family. Donald was born on August 22, 1931 in Rosebud, Texas to Leonard D. Durbin, Sr. and Carrie Lavern Weeden Durbin.
Don worked for Liberty Glass Company for 45 years as a pack ware inspector and finished his years as a bottle label operator. On June 7, 1950 he was married to Christine Pearl Matney at the Sapulpa Court House by the Justice of the Peace. Right after being married Don had to report for work at 3:00 p.m. They were married for 56 years.
Don was preceded in death by his loving wife Christine; his parents Leonard and Carrie Durbin; daughter Derberah (Debra); 2 grandsons, Ronald Cokeley and Bryan Joe Bennett; brother Leonard D. Durbin, Jr.; and 2 nephews, Leonard D. Durbin, III and Luther Donald Durbin.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Donna Jones and husband Johnny D. Jones of Sapulpa; and De Ann Burgess of Sperry; sister Betty Petersen of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 9 great, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Services at scheduled at 11:30 am Friday, September 9, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is Thursday from 9 am until 8 pm. The family will be the funeral home to greet friends from 6-8 pm.
