Obituary of Dora Louise McDaniel

Please share a memory of Dora to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dora “Louiese” McDaniel of Mannford, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2017 at the age of 84.  Louiese was born in Mannford, Oklahoma to parents Bernie and Audrey Ivy.

Louiese married Tommy J. McDaniel on May 8, 1948.  She and her husband enjoyed doing everything together.  The couple once built a fireplace together. She dug the foundation herself while Tommy was at work so he wouldn’t have to do it that evening.  She would do anything for Tommy.  She had a big heart with so much love for children.  She and her husband were foster parents and had around 60 foster children through their home.  The family hosted as many as 6 foster children at once and had to create an assembly line to get everyone ready for school in the mornings. She and Tommy also volunteered as Park Attendants at Lake Keystone.  She was an excellent cook and would fry the best chicken for her family, even though she wouldn’t eat it.  She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and quilting.  Her most recent were pillow cases and tea towels for the staff at the nursing home.  Louiese was a homemaker who created a loving home for her family.  She loved to read her bible and spend time with her family.

Louiese was preceded in death by her parents Bernie and Audrey Ivy.  She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 69 years, Tommy J. McDaniel of Mannford; sister Maybelle Butler of Sand Springs; sons Tommy D. McDaniel; Roger McDaniel; and Chris McDaniel; daughter Sharon McDaniel; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
