Roy Johnson of Glenpool, Oklahoma was received into the arms of his Savior on December 8, 2023, at the age of 98. LaRoy Henderson Johnson was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on October 18, 1925. He was the son of Clay Johnson and Lillie (Capps) Johnson.

Roy grew up in Enid, OK before enlisting in the US Army Air Force in 1944. He was a Belly Ball Turret Gunner on a B-24 Bomber in World War II completing 33 combat missions. Roy was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. After being discharged Roy settled in Glenpool, OK where he met the love of his life, Louise Forest, at a basketball game. They were married on March 5, 1948, and recently celebrated 75 years of marriage. They had 3 children Forrest (Dwayne), Donald (Don), and Charles (Chuck). Roy and Louise bought a 40-acre farm in Glenpool which came to be known as J-5. Aside from his family, J-5 was Roy’s pride and joy.  This is where they raised their sons, ran cattle, baled hay and gardened. Roy and Louise hosted many family holidays, church events, and friends on the farm. He loved to tinker in his shop building and was always working on, repairing or making something.  Roy also worked for Oil Dynamics for many years before retiring in 1990. He was a strong, hardworking, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Above all Roy was a man of God and strong in his faith. Though he will be greatly missed, we know we will see him again in Heaven.

Roy is survived by his three sons Dwayne Johnson and wife Sandy of Alamo, TX, Don Johnson and wife Kay of Sapulpa, OK, and  Chuck Johnson and wife Marna of Fruitvale, TX; grandchildren James Warren and wife A’May, Tina McBride and husband Jeffrey, Michelle McGonigal and husband Mike, Jason Johnson, Brandon Engles and wife Susan, Kimberly McIntosh and husband Joshua, Matthew Johnson and wife Tathia, Monty Johnson and wife Autumn; great-grandchildren Victoria Warren, Ashleigh Matos and Connor, Kaity Funk and Tyler, Kiersten Haney and Ryan, Alyssa Anderson and Justin, Keller Johnson, Noah Johnson, Abby Johnson, Bryce Engles, Abbey McIntosh, Jillian McIntosh, Ryker McIntosh, Rayden McIntosh, Ryan Hammons, Ali Johnson, Addisyn Vaughn, Jaycee Cress, Londynn Cress great-great-grandchildren; Fischer Haney, Hayes Haney, Mesa Anderson; sister Thelma Franks; as well as numerous other relatives.
