Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Barefoot

Susan Elizabeth Barefoot left her family and friends to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 5:15 pm. She was born in Enid, Oklahoma on August 30, 1976, the daughter of Donald and Dana Barefoot.

Susan was saved and baptized in the Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved her church, joyful music, and most of all her Lord.

Susan completed 13 years of school in the Glenpool school system. Her favorite thing to do was her artwork for her friends, coloring pretty pictures of hearts and flowers. She enjoyed attending the center for the physically challenged and disabled in Tulsa, where she participated in sports activities, learning about gardening, cooking and food selection. She participated in the special Olympics beginning at age 8 through the 12^th grade. She won many gold medals. She enjoyed literacy class and book club. She was a member of People First of Sapulpa and cooking class at the library.  While attending the center in Tulsa she learned how to properly plant and re-pot flowers and to use soil rather than dirt to plant them. She would always correct her mama for saying plant them in dirt by saying, “Not dirt, use soil.”

Mom’s favorite story of her as a child goes like this…We were decorating the Christmas tree and Susan was about 3 years old and I said to her, “Susan I can’t find my angel” and she said, “I’m right her mommy.”

A friend said of Susan, that she is the most precious soul anyone could ever meet. Always smiling and never a bad word about anyone. She chose to always see the good in people, she loved the Lord and there is no doubt she is in Heaven rejoicing, free of cancer and disability.
