Obituary of Mary Marie Staiger

Mary Marie (Worley) Staiger (1935–2024)

Mary Marie (Worley) Staiger, 89, of Sapulpa Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 30, 2024. She was born in Sapulpa on February 12, 1935, to  LeRoy and Viola “Marie” (Morris) Worley.

Mary attended Garfield Elementary and continued her education at Sapulpa High School. She married the late Arthur “Grant” Staiger in January of 1951 and the two enjoyed 57 years of marriage together.  When congratulated on the tenure of their marriage, it was common for her to say, “He asked me to marry him, so I’m going to stay with him to make him suffer!”  She was a lady known for her wittiness. Throughout their years of marriage, the two of them could be found fishing, building dune buggies, scuba diving, or spending time with family at the lake.

She loved attending all of her class reunions.  She also enjoyed volunteering for the Sapulpa Senior Citizens Center in the kitchen helping to make meals for delivery, as well as being the Treasurer.  Mary loved to spend time with her family and had a special adoration for her grandchildren. She was a homemaker for 73 years.

She was also preceded in death by son-in-law Arthur Behar, parents LeRoy and Marie, and brother Bruce Worley. She is survived by daughter, Linda (Staiger) Behar; sister Emma Lee Roach; sister-in-law Carlene Worley; grandchildren: Tina Ford (and husband Chris), Cindy Kerr, Kristie Dahl (and husband Ron); great-grandchildren: Jessica Ford, Heather Ford, Jacob Ford (and wife Sarah), Matthew Kerr (and wife Ashley), Dillon Kerr, Bryce Dahl (and wife Halee), Braden Dahl, Kaylee Mikles, Abby Hughes; great-great-grandchildren: CJ Ford, Bryce Kincaid, Aubrey Kincaid, Danielle Kincaid, Zayne Cannon, Christina Cannon, Winnifred Ford, Stetson Kerr and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11AM-8PM, with family being present from 6-8:00PM this Thursday, April 4th at Greenhill Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM this Friday, April 5th at Greenhill Funeral Home.
