Living Tree Memorial Program - Virtual Program this year
Friday, December 4, 2020
Uploaded to website and Facebook by 6:00 p.m.
Our Service will be abbreviated this year. The video will be a slide show of your loved ones pictures that are usually shown on our TVs during the service. We will focus on the reading of your loved ones names. Tom Dugan, Owner/Funeral Director will make a few brief statements and Brenda Smith, Operations Manager, will read our annual Christmas poem, "My First Christmas in Heaven." Following that we will proceed to the reading of your loved ones names. Usually this is when you go place an ornament on the Christmas Tree in the chapel, to be moved to the Living Tree later by staff or you can go place it outside on the Living Tree. Because your health and well being this holiday matter to us as well as the grief we all share when we lose a loved one, we have tried to plan something that could help you include your loved one who have passed in your holiday while still keeping you safe. Call and register your loved ones name (all community invited - not just those served by Green Hill) and/or make arrangements to have their picture on our slide show. You can register multiple names. You will have 3 options regarding ornaments this year beginning December 1st. 1. You may bring your ornament and place it on the Living Tree lower branches yourself at any time. 2. During hours of operation, Mon. - Fri. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., you may bring it to the Mausoleum and place it on the tree that will be available just inside the foyer. 3. During hours the funeral home is open you may bring your ornaments to the staff and they will arrange to have it placed on the Living Tree after the program.
A Season of Giving!!
In addition to our Annual Living Tree Memorial we have our Annual Toy Drive. Again, this year we are trying to help meet the needs of those in our community. Caring Community Friends has their Christmas Star Program that we have participated in for several years. Christmas Trees with the Stars are placed around the community and the needs of a child is on each Star. Like all programs, not every Star is chosen, not every Star is returned, and often there are last minute needs that did not make it in time for the program. At Green Hill we try to help them fill in that gap. We collect new unwrapped toys during the November and December but the main giving is done at the program. Caring Community has communicated that the need this year has substantially increased. If you have in your heart to give, we are making it even easier this year. You can bring your new unwrapped toys (or non-perishable food items for families) to the funeral home at any time during business hours beginning November 1st. You can also let us do the work. You can donate any amount you wish. Call us and donate with debit or credit card or mail a check for the toy drive and we will send you a receipt and if you wish a certificate honoring your loved one. You can drop by the office with extra change or a dollar. Everything helps. We will have a special receipt book just for your donations and keep a tally (minus givers names) and receipts to be very transparent with the donations and how they were used. Please contact Brenda Smith, Operations Manager, at (918) 224-2312 with any question.
Sincerely, Your Green Hill Family
