Obituary of Eldon LeRoy Spiller, Sr

Eldon LeRoy Spiller, Sr. was born on October 27, 1930, in Sedan, Kansas to William and Bessie Spiller. He was the youngest of six children. Eldon moved to Sapulpa at the age of nine and attended elementary and high school there. He served in the army from 1952 to 1954, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He married Mildred Bock in 1955. They had three children, Lesa, Roy, and Pam, and they lived most of their lives in the Tulsa, Mannford, and Sapulpa areas. Eldon was a machinest for many years, and later was a private owner and driver for Yellow Cab in Tulsa. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, bowling, fishing, listening to country music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie Spiller, three sisters, a brother, and recently his son, Eldon LeRoy (Roy) Spiller, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Spiller, of the home, daughters Lesa Jensen and husband, Rick, and Pam Whinery and husband Jim, all of Sapulpa, as well as his brother, Vern Spiller, of Sapulpa. He leaves behind nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was proud of his family and experiences from his time in the army. To know him was to love him and he will truly be missed by many.
