Obituary of Darrin Hodgson Mullins

Darrin Hodgson Mullins was born on August 18th, 1969 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and left our presence to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1st, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Tammy; sons Cameron, Preston and Jackson of the home; his daughter Haleigh and future son-in-law Jeremy of Inola; his mother Ligea Adsit and dad Mike of Broken Arrow; his father Gary Mullins and wife Dee of Tulsa; his brother Michael Adsit and wife Sarah of Atlanta; and his grandmother Peggy Adsit of Owasso. He graduated with honors from Broken Arrow High School in 1987. His studies included auto mechanics and his inherited love for fast cars, especially those made by American Motors was bonded to his son, Jackson, by giving him “Big Red” – a 1967 AMC Ambassador, the car he came home from the hospital in when he was born. On May 5th,2001 Darrin married the love of his life, Tammy, and immediately became a constant source of love and support to her children. He served several terms as president of the Tulsa Orchid Society and was considered by most people to be an expert on orchids, often being called by the Tulsa World and other agencies as needed for articles, opinions and advice. As a business owner he expertly weaved his orchid knowledge into a subtle but effective lay ministry speaking to people who may not otherwise walk through the doors of a church or willingly engage in a discussion of eternity. The creative company name of Faith, Hope and Orchids often evoking a nonchalant spiritual discussion. His Chuck Norris jokes made him notorious and a highly rated corporate trainer, preferred by most attendees and co-presenters. Even now, it’s rumored that Chuck Norris is responsible for his untimely departure, but no one was brave enough to go ask him…
