Obituary of Kerry Lynn Watashe
Kerry Watashe was 62 years young when she transitioned from Earth to Heaven on January 25th, 2015.
Kerry was preceded in death by her grandmother Tillie Bock, father Ed Blackburn, mother Sandy Blackburn and Brother Edmond Blackburn, Jr. She is survived by husband, John Watashe, and her two children, son Phillip Watashe and daughter Kamicha Watashe, all of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Kerry is also survived by her siblings Edwina Bock of Joplin MO, Margaret Birkmann of Overland Park KS, Denise Henry, Timothy Blackburn, and Daniel Blackburn all of Tulsa, OK, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kerry, daughter of Ed and Sandy Blackburn, was an outgoing person who loved the outdoors, her animals, and sports. In her youth, she was a member of the American Legion Post 1 Junior Auxiliary and was the first Poppy Queen. She played various sports, including softball and soccer, and enjoyed her football-- Boomer Sooner! Kerry was an active member of Kingdom Rain International Ministries. She was a resident at Arbor Village and Northside nursing homes where she was named “Resident of the Month” at both facilities. Kerry was a very giving and loving person who always had a smile and kind words for all she met. She was very much loved and cherished by friends and family and will be greatly missed by all.
Viewings will be held from 1-9 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st and Sunday, February 1st at Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 2nd, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hill Funeral Home. Please add your favorite memory of Kerry on this webpage.
