Obituary of Vernie Leroy Briggs

Vernie Leroy Briggs was born November 28th, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He went home to be with the Lord on February 5th, 2015 at his home in Oakhurst surrounded by his loved ones. Vernie was preceded in death by his parents Bonus L. and Betty L. Briggs; Father-In-Law Pete N. Casillas; and Niece Debra Gamwell. He is survived by his wife Connie Briggs of the home, whom he married December 4th, 1976; his son Daniel Briggs and wife Angela of Oakhurst; daughter Elizabeth Cooper of Oakhurst; son Justin Briggs and wife Skeeter of Kellyville; son Anthony Briggs and wife Ashley of Oakhurst; and 11 grandchildren, which he adored; his sister and their spouses Linda and Clyde Roper, Shirley Braggs, Kathy and Nick Gear and Sherry and Steve Farmer all of Sapulpa; numerous nephews, nieces, family & friends. Vernie was known for his carpentry skills which he passed down to his three sons. His love for crafts and bargain shopping that he passed down to his only daughter, his humor and most importantly his love for his family and God. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at First Christian Church in Sapulpa, OK. Visitation will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home from 3:30-9 Saturday, 1-9 Sunday and 9-9 Monday.
