Obituary of Bobby Gene Wilson
Bobby Gene Wilson, 81, of Bristow died February 24, 2015 at St. John Hospital in Sapulpa. Bob was born on November 22, 1933 in McBride, Oklahoma to Robert and Thelma Wilson. Bob married Bonnie Lee Myers on March 30, 1956. From this union was born three children; Sherrie Coggin, Larry Wilson and Steve Wilson.
Bob graduated from Boynton High School before enlisting in the United States Army on December 3, 1953. He later graduated from OSU School of Technical Training on August 15, 1958. Bob worked as a typesetter and pressman for Okmulgee Newspaper and later for the Bristow News Record until retirement.
Bob is survived by his wife Bonnie Wilson of Bristow; his sisters Juanita Myers of Boynton and Carolyn Herrmann of Claremore; brother Billy Wilson of Haskell; three children, Sherrie Coggin and husband Mark Coggin of Sand Springs, Larry Wilson and wife Vicki Wilson of Bristow and Steve Wilson of Bristow; grandchildren Laura Wilson of Terre Haute, Indiana, Kara Wilson of Terre Haute, Indiana, Daniel Wilson of Bristow, Emma Coggin of Sand Springs, Joe Hill of Nowata and Jessica Hill of Bristow; great-grandchildren Austin Halley and Audrey Zimmerman.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, J.C. Wilson, Tommy Wilson and Carl Wayne Wilson; one sister, Hazel Graves; and one grandson, Steven Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 27, 2015 at Bristow Christian Center with Pastor Wayne Gemmill officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
