Obituary of Rodger Wayne Sloan
Rodger Wayne Sloan, 60, was born in Pryor, Ok on April 26, 1954 to George and Wynema Salmon Sloan and passed away on March 24, 2015 at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma. Rodger grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma, graduating from Midwest City High School in 1972. After high school, Rodger joined the U. S. Army and was active during the Vietnam War. He later had a daughter, Kimberly, and helped raise her while working as a mechanic for a bus and trucking company. Rodger married Elizabeth Pruitt on June 26, 1999 and they made their home in Muskogee, Oklahoma before moving to Owasso in 2004. Rodger and Elizabeth have since been members of A Glorious Church Fellowship in Collinsville, Oklahoma. He enjoyed tinkering with motors and doing things for other people such as fixing cars, usually for free. Rodger especially loved spending as much time as he could with his family, he was so proud of them. Survivors include wife, Elizabeth of the home; daughter, Kimberly Froman and her husband, Joshua and their children, Roslyn and Lucas of Claremore, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Paula Wofford and her husband, Mike of Bristow, Oklahoma and children, Mary, Lindsey, Alyssa, Lauren, Andrew and Cody; step-daughter, Deana Rice and her husband, Brett of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and children, Jenna, Jill and Chase; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Sydney, Bailey, Adalyn and Elliot; sisters, Alice Barron and husband, Michael of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Linda Hastings and husband, Charles of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Margaret Dale and husband, Roy of Coweta, Oklahoma; brother, Mike Sloan and wife, Mary of Eufaula, Oklahoma. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rodger was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Steve and Randy. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at A Glorious Church Fellowship in Collinsville, Oklahoma with burial to follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
